Physiotherapy for Shoulder Pain in Glasgow
Book NowOur physiotherapists treat a wide range of shoulder presentations including rotator cuff problems, frozen shoulder, impingement syndromes, post-surgical rehabilitation, and the everyday stiff and painful shoulders that creep in from desk work and modern lifestyles.
Common Symptoms We See
Shoulder pain has many faces. Common reasons patients come to see us:
- Difficulty raising the arm overhead or behind the back
- Pain when reaching, lifting, or carrying
- Night pain that disturbs sleep – particularly when lying on the affected side
- A ‘catching’ or pinching sensation during certain movements
- Progressive loss of range of motion (often a sign of frozen shoulder)
- Weakness when pushing, pulling or lifting
- Pain that started after a fall or specific incident
- Stiffness and ache after long periods at a desk
What We'll Assess
Shoulder assessment includes the range of motion of the glenohumeral (main shoulder) joint in all planes, the strength of the rotator cuff muscles, scapular (shoulder blade) movement and control, the cervical and thoracic spine (the neck and upper back), and any specific tests that point to particular structures or conditions.
How We Treat It
areas.
Where indicated, laser therapy can be used to support recovery in tendon-related shoulder problems. For conditions like frozen shoulder where the timeline is longer, we focus on managing the condition through its natural phases while maintaining as much function as possible.
